Welcome to the the new school year! We hope that everyone is settling into school and enjoying their first couple of days! We are set for a great year of scouting adventures and we hope that our scouts are ready for a lot of fun!
As a pack, we had a great summer, highlighted by the 4th of July Parade with the City of Lakeway, celebrating our 250th Anniversary. The scouts had a fantastic time celebrating the founding of our country and spending time with our community.
We hope your family had a great summer and we look forward to hearing the stories of all the great adventures you and your families went on. We look forward to seeing you all in the coming weeks as we get the year started with a lot of fun!. See below for all of the upcoming activities, and please plan to attend one of the events so we can welcome you back and get your scout registered for the year.

Communication - We are switching over to WhatsApp for in-time communication
We are moving our in-time communications over to WhatsApp instead of Slack. You will be seeing invtitations coming through for a Pack Channel as well as for your Dens. Please think about how you can best stay connected and use these tools. Our general pack communications will continue to go through email, website and scoutbook, but WhatsApp will be a great option if you are in immediate need of something when traveling to an event or need help with something at that moment.

General Pack Info for All Scouts:
Calendar and Events
Pack 442 2026-2027 Calendar: Catch a sneak peek at our Website Calendar for the next scout year. There may be slight changes as we get into the year, but we’ll do our best to stick with this as closely as possible. PDF version for your frig is located HERE!
Den Calendars will be provided as the scouting year starts, and all of the events are/will be loaded into the Scoutbook calendars for each den. All calendar communication will officially come through Scoutbook, so make sure you are connected to your scout. We will go over this at the August Pack Meeting for anyone that is not.
Registration Info:
As we kick off the new year, we have several pieces of info that we need from all the scouts, both new and returning. First of, if you are receiving emails to renew your membership, please know that the pack takes care of this as part of our scouts yearly dues. Once you have paid dues for this year, we can then pay your membership fee and the emails will stop. If you have already paid it, please reach out to Eric Vigil to get a new dues amount ($175 minus registration payment amount) for the year.
This includes:
- Scout Registration Form – Update our roster/contact info for the pack (if it has changed)
- Medical Forms – These need to be filled our every year so we have on hand during events. A Form is required for all family members that will participate in an overnight event (campout, overnight)
- Pay Dues – Please pay your dues (preferred method is Venmo @CubScouts442 ). Other options are available through the website (includes some fees): https://www.lakewaycubscouts.org/store
We have a lot more information to share over the next few weeks regarding den calendars, pack meetings, fundraising, and more. We can’t wait to see you all at the Swim Party this weekend!
YIS,
Josh Sawyer
